All
types of buildings are being installed in so-called „intelligent
installation. Beginning from small houses to public sport arenas, and
ending on big public buildings, which have to be economical, functional,
elastic and safe. This was the main reason for Issendorff to create a
system called Local Control Network, which in shorten looks LCN.

Other functions are built in
logical modules, so we don’t have to keep very big amount of devices. There
are two types of modules: one is placed in switch-board, and the other is
hidden, behind push buttons. Apart from usual functions, there are jalousie
or shutter control, sensor control, 100 light scenes to remember, 2 time
regulators, adding, subtraction, counting, threshold values, tableau, remote
control by internet, phone, infrared, access control etc. Majority of
functions is available together. We only have to activate these useful
functions. The power outputs in modules are from 2X300W to 2X2000W. To
communicate between modules we use additional vein in usual YDY (NYM) cable.
The speed of transmission of LCN is 9600 bytes/sec. It is the same as in
other systems, but here we have better efficiency – 100 packets/sec, which
is three times faster than in other networks. Other important thing is that
switch action is written in sensors, but not in switching units, which makes
them more elastic. Every push button/sensor sends to switcher a telegram,
so it can do action in different times.
LCN has 3-level messaging concept: command, acknowledgement and status
report. There is not only confirmation of received telegram, but also
confirmation of realization of a task. If there are any changes on outputs,
then it is send a status telegram of outputs to all modules.
In every application visualization is available, that simplifies us to see
the statuses of outputs by main computer, touch panel or touch screen.
Modules are programmed by Issendorff software, which is available on Windows
(LCN-Pro) and DOS (LCN-P). This software is a part of training suitcase.

LCN
thanks to it’s method of work it is very elastic. That’s why we can fit the
system to the building and we can easily change it. Basing on standard
installation makes our system easier, because we can build LCN building by
stages. Installation and programming is very simple, so it is easy for every
electrician. To make LCN easier, we offer training suitcase, which has basic
modules, software and instructions.
These advantages are to make LCN more popular and very
simple, practical to use.
